In May of 2020, during the height of Covid, I was struck with an idea. I had just been blessed with a new baby boy and had all that was needed for him. With gift credit leftover at a local baby boutique, wouldn’t it be nice to give a gift of a crib to a couple in need? After reaching out to Mitzva Man, I learned of an expecting couple- both of whom had lost their jobs due to Covid- who could not afford a crib for their first baby. Not only did they need a crib, but also a car seat, stroller, diapers, wipes, and the list went on. My friends and I got together to provide them all they needed. I thought then, if this couple is in need, maybe there are more young community families who could use some help.
Thus was born Ahava Baby. We at Ahava Baby are a team of young mothers dedicated to the idea that we can and will support other community mothers just like us. We strive to provide brand new baby essentials such as furniture, clothing, diapers, and toys for the entire first year of life. Through the support of our community members, we ensure that despite the stress of bringing home a new baby, love, joy, and excitement will prevail.
